The Core of This Campaign is about building Community Governance

This campaign is about building a stronger, smarter, and more inclusive Lynn by putting Community Governance at the heart of city. That means rethinking how local government operates so that residents are not just informed but actively involved in shaping the policies that impact their lives. It means a city that listens first, acts transparently, and partners with the community to shape our city together. It means your voice builds Lynn's future.

Real Voice, Real Power

  • Your voice shouldn’t just matter on Election Day—it should shape decisions year-round through:

    • Regular opportunities for policy dicussion

    • User-friendly feedback tools

    • Clear, consistent, accessible communications

Transparency You Can Trust

  • We’ll go beyond legal requirements to:

    • Publish easy-to-understand materials such as one-page summaries, video explainations, and decision making timetables

    • Show exactly how resident input changed outcomes (or why it didn’t)

Government That Works With You

  • To support bottom-up decisions, we’ll:

    • Co-design policies with residents on issues like housing and safety

    • Train city staff in community engagement best practices

    • Empower neighborhoods with resources to solve local problems

Accountability That Lasts

  • Track progress on public dashboards with clear metrics for:

    • Housing affordability

    • Small business growth

    • Infrastructure improvements

Top 3 Policy Priorities

  1. Housing Affordability & Responsible Development

    • Protect residents from displacement and preserve existing affordable housing, while ensuring new developments contribute to affordability.

  2. Economic Growth & Small Business Support

    • Multi-year "Buy Local" campaign tied to Lynn’s annual events & upcoming anniversaries
    • Expand regulatory assistance and create additional incentives to start, grow, and support small businesses.

    • Expand workforce training and union with more direct pipelines between Schools, Colleges, and Companies to connect residents to good-paying jobs.
  3. Public Safety & Community Trust

    • Achieve a 24/7 Calm Team for unarmed intervention and response.

    • Build on community policing with supportive training and expanded outreach capacity.

    • Expand emergency preparedness resources, training, and doctrine for future forest fires.

  • Youth-Government Partnership: Implement a charter reform establishing a formal youth-government partnership to ensure young people have a voice in city decision-making.

Health & Social Services

  • Access to Care: Look to expand healthcare options by attracting new providers to Lynn while growing existing services, with focus on Lynn Community Health Center and the Lynn VA.
